Earth Day Beach and Roadside Clean-up: A great community effort!

Updated: Apr 25, 2024

The fabulous Pender Island Community has stepped up again this year to remove litter, garbage, cans, bottles, plastics, foam, and other debris from the byways and shorelines of our islands. What a terrific way to honour Earth Day: helping to remove debris would otherwise pose a danger to so many terrestrial and marine creatures and the habitats they depend upon. Afterward, volunteers enjoyed lunch, music by local musicians, door prizes, and a great sense of shared purpose. Thanks to all the volunteers who collected or sorted garbage, who served the food, put up tents, tables, and displays, played music, directed traffic, and so much more.
